This week, K1ever had the pleasure of attending the OneHub Alumni Event 2025, a gathering of passionate entrepreneurs in Ottawa. The event brought together business owners from various industries, creating an inspiring environment for networking and knowledge-sharing.

What is OneHub?

OneHub is a vital initiative in Ottawa that has been supporting newcomer entrepreneurs by providing resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Their mission has been to help immigrants build and grow their businesses in Canada by offering business training, funding guidance, and community support. Whether in food, tech, design, events, or photography, OneHub has played a significant role in helping entrepreneurs take their ideas to the next level.

K1ever at the OneHub Alumni Event

The OneHub Alumni Event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow entrepreneurs. K1ever, represented by Bruno, the founder, was among many talented business owners, including professionals in food, IT, photography, event planning, and various other industries.

During the event, attendees participated in a 30-minute meet-and-chat session, exchanging experiences and discovering new business opportunities. The networking was followed by a food section, where food entrepreneurs showcased and shared their delicious creations.

Presentations and Success Stories

After the networking session, OneHub delivered a presentation highlighting the impact they have made on Ottawa’s entrepreneurial community. This was followed by three successful entrepreneurs sharing their journeys, discussing the challenges they faced, and celebrating their achievements.

Unfortunately, a major announcement was made—OneHub will be closing in March 2025 due to the end of its funding. This news was disappointing for many in the newcomer business community, as OneHub has been an essential pillar of support for immigrant entrepreneurs.

Despite this, the connections, lessons, and inspiration from the event will live on, reminding us of the power of entrepreneurship and community.
