Onehub Ottawa Alumni Entrepreneur Event 2024

On Saturday, January 27th, 2024, the OneHub Ottawa alumni entrepreneur event took place at the WorldSkills location, where several OneHub clients attended.

We were privileged to have three speakers share their experiences as small business owners. Osama, the founder of Lahib Restaurant in Ottawa. Helene founder of a real estate agency in Ottawa. And Radwa, the founder of InMotion, an organization specializing in event management. All speakers provided valuable insights. Despite their diverse backgrounds, with degrees, they each found their passion in different sectors.

As the moderator and conversation starter representing my company k1ever, I posed several questions to the speakers:

  • Can you introduce yourself, detailing your background, career, and when you established your presence?
  • Why did you decide to open your business?
  • How did you come up with the idea for your business?
  • Explain the execution of your business idea. Tell us more about the services your business offers.
  • Can you provide examples of the marketing services you have utilized and their effectiveness?
  • Were the marketing services effective, or did you primarily focus on networking?
  • What challenges did you face in attracting customers to your business?
  • How did you navigate the competition in your industry?
  • How much time did it take for your business to stand out and start generating revenue?
  • What are your next steps in the business?
  • What advice would you give to someone attempting to open a business in Canada?

Each speaker shared valuable insights:

  • Radwa stressed the need for a clear vision for the company and the importance of innovation in event creation.
  • Osama emphasized the importance of planning for the future and maintaining belief in one’s success, even if it takes several years.
  • Helene highlighted the significance of community engagement and striving to bring value to the community as a path to success.

To conclude the event, we gathered to enjoy a cake prepared by Asma’s Table.

I extend my gratitude to OneHub for organizing this insightful event, which made me feel like part of a supportive family. The future of entrepreneurship begins here at OneHub Ottawa.
